Meet Lori Rook
Lori Rook is a successful business owner and attorney who has used her skills and legal knowledge to plan for and protect our aging population, their families, those with special needs, veterans, business owners, and farmers throughout Missouri. In addition to estate planning, asset protection, and business succession planning for Missouri families, Lori has worked to prevent and remedy financial fraud and abuse amongst seniors and those with special needs. She has successfully fought for and helped thousands of Missourians each year plan for the future and the unknown, ensuring they are armed with the necessary tools and knowledge to retain autonomy and increase their quality of life.
A Republican Outsider
Lori has never run for a political office and doesn’t consider herself a politician. She is an innovator and protector who is running for Missouri Treasurer to shield our senior citizens from financial abuse, educate our children about financial literacy, invest more in our neighbors and not our enemies, and to maximize Missouri’s investments - not political correctness.
Lori's Background and Passion
At an early age, Lori knew she wanted to protect and serve others. She credits her father for instilling in her a servant heart and inspiring her career as she watched him work to protect others as a law enforcement officer and as he later moved into the school safety sector where he has worked tirelessly to ensure our children and teachers are protected.
A native to Southwest Missouri, Lori graduated from Nixa High School and later attended Missouri State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminology. She later went on to a earn a Juris Doctorate Degree from Oklahoma City University School of Law.
Lori's passion for tackling the legal issues that affect our aging population and the vulnerable members of our society stems from questions that arose while her mother suddenly found herself providing 24/7 care to her grandmother. It was during this time in 2012, she began exploring a transition from civil trial work to the elder law arena and came upon an opportunity to take over an existing elder law practice with another attorney and colleague. In 2018, Lori became the firm’s sole owner when her law partner was elected as a judge. Today, Lori's law practice is highly successful and has expanded to nine offices and eight attorneys making her a leader in the field of elder law, estate planning and asset protection.
The challenges of 2020 were difficult for everyone, but Lori saw firsthand the negative impacts the mandates and draconian lockdowns had on the elderly and their families. Despite the roadblocks and hurdles Lori never stopped fighting for the rights of seniors and their families during these tough times. In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, she was on the frontlines ensuring those in nursing homes, hospitals and those who were homebound could still execute important legal documents using executive orders her law firm pushed for while still advocating for seniors and their families to prevent abuse and neglect. She fought tirelessly to protect the rights of elders when no one else was paying attention.
Lori's Family
Lori has been married to her husband Ryan Rook for twenty years. When Ryan was just seventeen years old, he joined the Marine Corp Reserves immediately upon graduating high school. While in the Marine Reserves he also attended Drury University where he graduated with a degree in Business in 2002. After graduating, Ryan pursued a career in banking with Wells Fargo but ultimately decided to follow his passion for small business and entrepreneurship by taking over the family irrigation business and investing in other small business opportunities and real estate. Lori and Ryan have three children - Aidan (17), Lincoln (13) and Nora (11).
